Tips for Creating Landing Pages That Convert

A landing page is the most crucial part of a website for generating leads. This is the page a visitor arrives after clicking an ad. Therefore, this should be optimized in such a way that it converts the maximum traffic, landing after clicking the ad.

Inexperienced marketers are still confused about landing pages and they drive all their traffic to the website’s homepage where users get distracted.

You need to tailor specific landing page for different marketing strategies to drive niche customer for obtaining maximum conversion.

Here are the possible ways that you can use to create a landing page that asks people to take some action:

Create Persuasive Headline:

The headline is the first element which grabs the attention of the visitors. This should be catchy and an exact match of what you want to offer to the visitor. After reading the headline visitor should know about the product or service.

Including subheadings along with headline that explains more about your offer adds extra advantage for you as well as visitors.

Clear and Concise Content:

The landing page is intended to increase sale. You drive people here to make conversions not to tell them about your company or services. Therefore, the content on landing page should be clear, concise and easy to scan. But it should explain well enough what you are offering to the visitors.

To make your content more engaging, you should relate it to your customer. Use words like “you” that addresses visitors directly or explains them why they should take the specific action.

Justifying your content with images that suit your business helps visitors understand you better.

Striking Call-to-Action:

The Call-to-Action (CTA) is the part for which you drive traffic to the landing page. The purpose of landing page is to ask the visitor to perform specific action. This could be signing up for newsletter, subscribing the blog or making a purchase.

Creating a clickable CTA is challenging, using following attributes can help you to make a better CTA:

  • Create bigger or clearly visible CTA.
  • Use contrast color.
  • Use readable fonts.
  • Use button to make CTA.

To increase conversion, never distract visitors with lots of CTA. It’s better to use one CTA on one landing page.

Narrow the Focus:

The landing page should be designed in such a way that it should serve one and only one purpose that is converting leads. Using more call-to-action on single landing page means distracted visitors and lost customer. If you want visitor to fill form, ask as minimum information as possible and most valuable to you.

You do not want to spend your budget on the pages on which visitor do not take action, so do not include the links that are useless and take the visitors away.

Keep your page simple, clear and logical.

Keep Testing:

Designing a landing page and sitting idle does not help in a long run. For better marketing, you always need to test various version of landing page and monitor their performance. Test different page elements, but do not make multiple changes at once on single page because you will not be able to find which element has performed and which you need to reconsider. Instead create and test multiple landing pages with minor changes.

Redesign a copy of landing page and try different formatting and run A/B test:

  • Change color of page or CTA,
  • Use different fonts and text size.
  • Change images.
  • Change keywords.

The outcome is that you need to design such page which is easily readable and tell the visitors exactly what you offer and what they need to do.
